About Airlie Beach Hotel

Right on the Esplanade in the absolute heart of Airlie Beach, this hotel puts you between the beach and the village action. Step out your front door and you're literally across the road from the foreshore and lagoon. Turn the other way and you're in the middle of Airlie's restaurants, cafes, and shops.

The Pub downstairs has become one of Airlie's most popular spots for casual meals, with their wood-fired pizzas getting rave reviews. There's live entertainment, sports on the big screens, and a buzzing atmosphere most nights. If that's not your scene, don't worry - close your balcony door and the rooms are surprisingly quiet.

With 80 rooms, this is one of Airlie's larger hotels and employs a big chunk of the local workforce. The location honestly can't be beat - you can walk to pretty much everything in town, and tours pick up right from the marina a short stroll away.

"Unbeatable Location - Positioned right between the beachfront and Airlie Beach village, the hotel delivers easy access to both sun-soaked sands and local restaurants and bars. We had a very good stay at this hotel! The location is absolutely superb - just a short walk to the beach, scenic coastal footpaths, and a wide range of excellent restaurants."

"We stayed at the Airlie Beach Hotel which, for us was the ideal place to stay. It is central to everything. Our rooms were more than adequate to the point that we will return and request the same rooms. Beds are super comfy. We found each and every staff member we dealt with to be extremely friendly and helpful - from reception to cleaners to bar and restaurant staff."

TripAdvisor

"Room was large and very comfortable. The balcony had a nice view of the sea. Staff were pleasant and helpful. Location was convenient to the beach and restaurants. Excellent location. Friendly staff. Room 307 was extremely quiet for my 8 night stay. My room was a one bedroom suite with 2 balconies. Lots of space for a lengthy stay. Full kitchen."

Good to know: The Pub downstairs can be lively with entertainment and crowds, but guests say once you close your balcony door, the rooms are well soundproofed and quiet. If you're sensitive to noise, request a courtyard room or a higher floor.

The Location

The location is honestly unbeatable. You're right on the Esplanade - the main drag through Airlie Beach - directly across from the beach and lagoon. Step out the front door and turn left, you're at the lagoon in 2 minutes. Turn right and you're heading toward Port of Airlie and all the marina action.

What's Nearby

Airlie Beach Lagoon: 300m away (literally across the road and a short walk). This free saltwater pool is patrolled daily and surrounded by grassy parks perfect for picnics. The Saturday morning markets set up right on the foreshore.

Boathaven Beach: 400m walk. A quieter beach option if the lagoon is busy. Nice for morning walks along the sand.

Port of Airlie: 450m (5-minute walk). Many tours now depart from here. Easy walk along the foreshore to catch your ferry or sailing trip.

Coral Sea Marina: 1.5km away (3-minute drive or 15-minute walk). The bigger marina where most of the reef and island tours leave from. The walk takes you along the scenic coastal path.

Restaurants & Shops: You're in the middle of it all. Dozens of restaurants, cafes, bars, and shops are within a 2-minute walk in any direction. Woolworths supermarket is a 5-minute walk.

The Pub at Airlie Beach Hotel

The ground floor pub has become a local institution. Their wood-fired pizzas are famous around town, and they do great casual bistro meals. There's live entertainment most nights, big screens for sports, and a lively atmosphere. It's a proper Aussie pub experience - loud, fun, and packed on weekends. If you want peace and quiet, head upstairs to your room and close the door - guests say the soundproofing works well.
