About Lady Enid Sunset Sail
The Lady Enid Sunset Sail is a romantic sailing experience operated by Iconic Whitsunday Adventures, departing from Coral Sea Marina in Airlie Beach. The two-hour adults-only cruise sails around Pioneer Bay, offering stunning views of the coastline and the Whitsunday Islands as the sun sets over the mountains.
Lady Enid is a beautifully restored 1961 timber yacht designed by renowned naval architect John G. Alden. This classic ketch has serious racing pedigree - she's competed in five Sydney to Hobart races and 15 Brisbane to Gladstone races, even winning the first-ever Sydney to Brisbane race in 1964. The yacht recreates that elegant age of sailing from the 1960s when it was about grace and style rather than modern racing technology.
The adults-only policy (strictly 18+) creates a sophisticated, romantic atmosphere that's perfect for couples or groups of friends. With a maximum of 24 passengers - well below the yacht's capacity - you'll have plenty of space to move around and find the perfect spot to watch the sunset. The crew are attentive, knowledgeable about the area's history, and genuinely passionate about sailing. This is barefoot luxury at its best - relaxed and elegant without being stuffy.

"We had a great time on the sunset tour! It was very laid back and relaxing, crew was fun, other passengers were great, skipper was a stand-up comic. We were lucky with an incredible sunset. Not your tour if you're looking to cover a lot of distance, definitely your tour if you enjoy being on a boat for sunset soaking in the views!"
TripAdvisor
"Such a relaxing experience watching the sun go down. The crew were amazing and friendly. Professional friendly crew, looked after everyone well. Loved the fact the boat stopped for a while at sunset point so everyone could take photos and enjoy. Beautiful yacht, what's there not to like? Highly recommended."

The Experience
The Lady Enid Sunset Sail is all about slowing down and soaking in the magic of a Whitsundays sunset aboard an elegant classic yacht. This isn't a high-energy adventure tour - it's a sophisticated, romantic sailing experience that lets you genuinely relax and enjoy the moment. The yacht stays in Pioneer Bay, sailing within sight of the coastline and the distant islands, creating the perfect atmosphere for watching the sky transform into brilliant shades of orange, pink and gold.
Your Itinerary
Check-In at the Marina: Arrive at Coral Sea Marina South Village 15 minutes before departure. Head to the top of M Jetty where the crew will greet you. The yacht is berthed near the Garden Bar and Bistro. Check-in time varies seasonally as departure is timed with the sunset, so confirm your exact departure time when booking.
Welcome Aboard: Step onto Lady Enid and you'll immediately appreciate the craftsmanship of this beautiful timber yacht. The crew will show you around, point out where to stow your shoes and belongings, and hand you a welcome Aperol Spritz. The antipasto platter will be laid out - prawns, cheese, salami, crackers and olives to share.
Setting Sail: The yacht motors out of Coral Sea Marina into Pioneer Bay. Once clear of the marina, the crew will raise the sails - you're welcome to help if you'd like or just watch. When the sails catch the breeze and the engine cuts off, there's this wonderful moment of peace as Lady Enid glides across the water. This is proper sailing.
Cruising Pioneer Bay: For the next couple of hours, Lady Enid sails around Pioneer Bay with views back to Airlie Beach and out towards the Whitsunday Islands. Find a comfortable spot - there's cushioned seating throughout the deck. The crew are happy to chat about the yacht's history, point out landmarks, or let you have a turn at the helm if conditions allow. The licensed bar is open if you'd like additional drinks.
Sunset: As the sun begins to set over the mountains behind Airlie Beach, the crew will position the yacht for the best views. The boat often pauses here so everyone can take photos and simply enjoy the moment as the sky transforms. The colours reflecting off the water are stunning - this is what you came for.
Return Journey: After sunset, Lady Enid sails back towards the marina as twilight settles and the lights of Airlie Beach begin to twinkle across the water. The return journey is just as lovely as the sail out, with a different but equally beautiful atmosphere. You'll arrive back at Coral Sea Marina around two hours after departure, leaving you plenty of time for dinner in town if you've booked ahead.

What to Bring
Sunglasses, camera or phone for sunset photos, light jacket or wrap for after sunset (it can get breezy on the water), and cash or card if you'd like to purchase additional drinks from the bar. Who Can Come
This is an adults-only experience - all guests must be 18 or older. A basic level of mobility is required to safely board the yacht using the boarding ladder and move around the deck.
